How vision boards can help clarify your business’ next step

Having a business vision and goal in your mind is one thing and actually assigning words and images to those goals and putting them together as a visual reminder every day is a completely another thing. Through the process of collating these words and images, the vision becomes real. Having them floating in our minds without putting them onto paper can sometimes mean that we are not giving our brains the ‘go’ to start achieving them.

“Results show that business owners who take the time to visualize their company are more successful and more likely to reach their goals than those who don’t.” - Forbes

The objective of creating a vision board and having it in your line of vision is to identify your goals and clarify your action points.

It’s all about being intentional with your goals and dreams. So, if you’re thinking what is the purpose of a vision board? It’s to turn abstract ideas in your mind into real attainable goals. Be specific with what you want through the process of creating.

Encourage positivity and provide motivation:

Once you are clear with your intentions for your vision board and what it is you’d like to achieve in your business, a vision board is now there to encourage positivity and provide motivation. Essentially, you are subconsciously performing short visualisation exercises through the day as you look at it. This will serve as a reminder to you and inspire you to stay on the right track and keep you going. Ultimately, vision boards are a way to keep yourself accountable and motivated through the ups and downs of business.

Keep focused on your goal:

A business journey is never straight forward and there are many days where it might feel like you’re not going anywhere but having a vision board can keep you focused. It’s easy to settle for less and think that what you have now is enough but going back to your daily affirmations and vision board, you’ll be reminded of what you truly want to achieve. It would serve as a visual reminder of your ultimate goal and motivate you to keep going.

Help you out when you feel stuck:

If you’re unsure what your next step should be or how to plan your business year, a vision board can put the bigger picture in front of you so that you have a visual representation of what you want to achieve, which can help you break down the steps to getting there. Having an end goal in your vision every day, several times a day will work on a subconscious level for your brain to think of ways to get there. So, as you’re working on your current project, don’t worry, your brain is picking up the visual cues and doing its bit to help you reach your goals.

“Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life, because you become what you believe” Oprah Winfrey

Having a vision board can truly do wonders to getting motivated and inspired to implement your goals. As humans, we are visual creatures and images process in our brains on a conscious and subconscious level when they are presented to us daily.
