What to Expect When You Are Involved in a Logo Design Project

A logo is more than a symbol. It carries the significance of a brand’s visual identity and without one a brand would struggle to assert its visibility in any market. Logos are vital because they set precedent for what is to follow next from a brand and set the business's opening impression. A logo is the keystone of your brand and will prepare you in the best stead for surpassing your competitors.

Step 1: Understanding the Brand

We always start with getting to know more about your brand, your vision, your goals and your mission and vision. Throughout the process open communication is of importance as this is the perfect stage for initial ideas to be discussed.

Step 2: Market Research

We conduct research about your target audience, test shapes, colours and fonts. At Magnetic, we design logos in various formats, decide on short and long forms (how it would look on a catalogue, on a pen, or as an icon on social media etc). We also provide brand guidelines to maintain brand consistency.

Step 3: Numbers / Location

How many designs will you be getting made for your brand. There are always different packages offered so make it’s important to agree on the deliverables that will be provided and expected. Where will the logo be used? It is also important to consider the logo’s shape and how it fits on the website, signs, emails, business cards or social media accounts.

Step 4: Design and Refine the Logo

Once the first concepts have been produced explanation of the designs will be presented and you can have open feedback about the results. We understand that changes may need to be made. We make sure the logo reflects your brand's personality. Are you a relaxed brand (round, curvy font, playful colours), or are you a corporate, serious brand (firm fonts and strong lines)?

Step 5: Delivery

Once you are settled this logo can act as the framework for your brand style guide. We will then deliver all the logo files in various file formats and resolutions, in order to be used in all print and digital assets of varying sizes.
