SERVICES / AUGMENTED REALITY
Augmented reality
We design augmented reality experiences that extend brands beyond the page, screen and physical space.
The technology is only useful when it gives people something worth doing. That might be seeing a place differently, exploring a product, learning how something works, sharing an experience or taking the next step.
Magnetic brings strategy, creative direction, content and delivery together to make AR work in the real context where people will encounter it.
What we help with
01
AR campaigns and activations
An AR campaign needs a reason for people to scan, point, move or share.
We develop the idea, interaction and content around the audience, setting and campaign objective, then connect the experience to the wider creative work.
02
Print and physical AR touchpoints
Printed materials can become the starting point for something more interactive.
We design AR layers for brochures, posters, packaging, menus, coasters, business cards, sales materials and other physical brand touchpoints.
03
360° and interactive environments
Some experiences need more than a single animated layer.
We can help create interactive environments, virtual walkthroughs and digital portals that let audiences explore a place, product or proposition at their own pace.
04
Events, places and destinations
An event or destination gives AR a physical context to work with.
We create experiences that help people explore a space, find information, discover content, interact with a brand or take part in something that only makes sense in that location.
05
Product and packaging experiences
AR can give people another way to understand, use or share a product.
We develop product demonstrations, storytelling layers, virtual views and interactive content that build on the physical object.
06
Learning, training and demonstration
Some ideas are easier to understand when people can see them in action.
We design AR experiences for learning, training, onboarding, product demonstration and technical storytelling, with the content structured around the people using it.
What the work can include
Depending on the brief:
Every project is scoped around the experience people need to have. We establish the audience, setting, access route and technical requirements before recommending the most suitable approach.

Campaign and event integration

Bluewaters Island, Dubai
Bluewaters Island wanted its seasonal campaigns to extend beyond physical decoration and give visitors another reason to explore and interact with the destination.
We integrated augmented reality into the wider campaign experience, using immersive digital layers and social AR to turn the island itself into an interactive environment, including a festive experience that brought virtual snow to Dubai.

House of Angostura
House of Angostura brought the world of the Trinidadian bitters and rum brand into a physical pop-up in Shoreditch, with the challenge of making that story extend beyond the space itself.
We created an augmented reality experience connected to the venue’s physical touchpoints, adding interactive digital content that let visitors discover more of Angostura’s culture, products and provenance as they moved through the experience.
Selected augmented reality work
AR connected to the wider experience
Augmented reality works best when it has a clear relationship with something people already care about.
It might extend a printed campaign, give an event another layer, help a customer understand a product or make a destination easier to explore.
Magnetic combines AR with brand strategy, graphic design, digital and web design, video, marketing and events. That means the physical touchpoint, interactive layer and wider campaign can be designed as one experience.
Magnetic has teams in London and Istanbul. For international work, we can establish what should remain consistent and where language, culture, location or audience behaviour needs a different response.
