Branding

We create new brands, rethink existing ones and make complicated portfolios easier to understand.

Strategy and design stay connected throughout. The work can cover positioning, naming, messaging, visual identity, guidelines and rollout, depending on what the brand actually needs.

What we help with

01

New brands

A new business, product or service needs a clear place in the market and a recognisable way to present itself.

We define the position and proposition before developing the name, language and visual identity. This creates a brand that can work across the places people will meet it.

02

Rebranding and repositioning

Businesses change. Their brands do not always keep up.

We establish what still has value, what is causing confusion and how far the change needs to go. Some projects need a sharper position and a refined identity. Others need a more substantial rethink.

03

Brand architecture

New products, services and sub-brands can make a business harder to understand.

Brand architecture gives each offer a clear role. We define the relationships between them, decide where the main brand should lead and create a structure that can accommodate future growth.

04

Naming and messaging

Names and messages need to make the strategy easier to understand, not add another layer of explanation.

We develop names for businesses, products and services, alongside propositions, narratives and messaging that marketing and sales teams can use consistently.

05

Visual identity

A visual identity should make the brand recognisable and give designers enough range to keep the work interesting.

We create identity systems covering areas such as logos, typography, colour, imagery, illustration, motion and art direction. The exact elements depend on where the brand needs to appear.

06

Brand guidelines and rollout

A brand only becomes useful when people know how to work with it.

We create practical guidelines, templates and launch materials for internal teams and external partners. Where needed, we can carry the brand into websites, campaigns, content, presentations, print and physical spaces.

Dryad - 01.jpg

Dryad

Dryad’s ultra-early wildfire detection technology needed to make sense to governments, NGOs, investors and commercial partners without losing the importance of its mission.

We developed the brand strategy and internal messaging framework, then carried that thinking into the identity, website and animated explainer.

Greymore-03.jpg

Greymore

The London solicitors had outgrown their original name and identity, but the trust attached to the firm still mattered.

Stakeholder workshops and market research shaped the positioning, new name, tone of voice and visual direction for Greymore. The brand was then applied across its website, print, social channels and office materials.

Selected branding work

Strategy and design under one roof

The people defining the brand work directly with the designers responsible for expressing it.

There is no point approving a position that falls apart when it reaches a homepage, sales deck or campaign. Strategic decisions are tested through design, and creative ideas are checked against the reason the project began.

Magnetic has teams in London and Istanbul. For international work, we identify what should remain consistent and where language, culture or customer behaviour requires a different response.
